A sketch of my Monster Man

Wow winter in Idaho is in full swing! We have had a ton of snow, and I love it! Of course I'm not really driving in it all that much. Growing up on the coast in California I never got to experience all 4 seasons, and since we moved here 7 years ago I have fallen in love with each one. But I just love how snow makes everything so beautiful and sparkly.

The only downside to the snow, my boys are completely restless and driving me up the wall! Plus with my 18 month old teething it's not a nice combo. So hopefully the last of those teeth will pop on through and I will have a brake from it for a while.

Well I have continued to be good to myself and have been making sure I have time for my drawing. With my school starting up on Monday hopefully I will continue to do so. I'm only taking a math class this semester so I'm thinking I can do it. Here is my latest drawing:

It is a drawing of my son Quinton, aka Monster Man, Super Quinton and Super Big Brother. Poor kid takes after his momma! Every time he smiles his eyes close. This was for sure a fun one to do as I love looking at his adorable face!!

The best art was after I had shown him his picture he gave me a big hug, told me he loved it, and run into his room for a few minutes. He emerge from his room with a wonderful self portrait and told me I inspired him :) Oh how I love this little boy!!

Finding myself...

Happy New Years everyone! Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas.

With the new year comes so many New Year's resolutions. I'm not sure how I feel about them. What are your take on NY Resolutions?

Although I'm not sure about it, I have been taking a lot of time reflecting on the last few years of my life. My huge blessings being by boys and my wonderful husband. And all the health issues I have been dealing with and feeling like I have waisted so much time. Almost feeling like I have lost myself in the roll of mom and wife, and I am finding that this is not unique to myself which I have found comfort in.

So, what is it about myself that I feel I have lost? I'm not sure, but I'm hoping to find out.The first step is to reclaim something I love and it's my free hand art. This is the first of hopefully many more to come:

Catch up!!

I have been so crafty lately I had forgotten to post anything!! OOps!

It has been so crazy lately and yet I have been so relaxed and enjoying the summer! Although I get out in that heat and I tend to feel a bit lazy a bit too quickly!

Today I opened a new Etsy Store for my Logos and Graphic Design: ScrollsWorkLogos
An was able to make 4 bannors with logos for etsy shops. They are currently for sale for only $5.00 a set!
here is an example of a set:

Yesterday was a nice, very hot walk to the park for some play time:

I got to work on some flowers and played around with some new patterns. I will be so happy to get some new fabric though as I am getting borded with the same old colors:

And all of this would not have been possible if I hadn't finished my sister's wedding invitations. Although I loved being able to do them for her, I am not sure I will be willing to do that for anyone ever again.

Hope you all have been enjoying your summer so far as well!!

Juicing day 1

Here is my start!! I am 31 years old, I'm 5'2" and I weigh 178 lbs.

Here is how I look day 1
(photo taken by my 4 year old :D Hopefully there will be pics with better lighting in the future. I don't think the sun is aware it is summer time in Idaho)

My goal.... I don't have one I just want to get healthy so we shall see how it goes.

Today is my first day of my juice fast. I have had a few people ask me via email and Facebook, "Why do a juice fast?."   Well it is not just a fast to loose weight, although that is an awesome side effect, but it is also a natural way of letting the body heal.

A lot of you know what a hard pregnancy I had with my 9 month old son (if not, you can read my post My beautiful blessing is one month old today!) Well since having him it has just been one thing after another with my body and I am done with feeling so bad all the time. I have two beautiful boys and an awesome husband who rely on me and I want to be there for them 110%.

So, what happens is in our "typical" American Diet is we eat so much processed foods and well... It's killing us. We as a country are one of the fattest yet malnourished people in the world. We are eating but all the wrong things. What the reboot or detox does is bombard your body with an overload of micro nurturance and give your body the tools it needs to heal itself. But this is just a jump start to healthy living. If you are wanting more info you can click here: http://www.fatsickandnearlydead.com/. It has some great info.

I'm going to try for next week

So I actually started my fast on the first, but it didn't work out so well. I had hurt my back over a week ago and was feeling a lot better so I went with the family on a fishing trip to Hagerman, about 2 1/2 hours away. Great time with the family but an awful time for my back. I was in tears before we even left. Because of the pain I have been on pain killers and I have to have solid food in order to take them. But I have not been defeated!! I'm going to get back on it next week, once my back is doing better.

On a happier note I got some cute pictures of the kids:
Quinton was running all over the place, hence his rosie cheeks. I'm actually super surprised I was able to get a picture of him at all let alone a good one :)

Jasper loves rolling around in the grass, I just had to be on stick patrol as he was finding them everywhere and wanting to use them all as a chewy.

Unfortunately no fish but it was a beautiful day.

So who is horrible at blogging?

UM... ME!!!

It seems like I have been playing catch up lately and been neglecting something that I have been wanting to keep up with.

So the blog lightning speed catch up! (insert theme song here)

Applied for collage, helping my sister with her wedding in October, got spit up on, made hair ties things, listed stuff on etsy, changed 1000 poopy diapers, cleaned the house 100 times, started working over time on my FB Fan page, changed my title from Mom to Tawanda, pulled a muscle in my back, dealt with a teething baby (4 coming in on the top at the same time), learned out to tune out a 4 year old, picked up after the dog, announced "because I said so" 1000000 times, and I slept a little here and there in there somewhere lol. How's that for a run on sentence ha!

So just because I don't have enough going on I will be torturing myself this coming month. How? do you ask. By going on a juice fast.
Yes you read it correctly. I have had such a hard time loosing this baby weight and I have decided to nip it once and for all. I have finally weened Jasper and am going to go off the deep end with it. I was so inspired by a documentary called Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead (you can click here if you want to know more about it don't worry I'm not selling anything) and have been wanting to do this for a while but couldn't while breastfeeding due to the fact that it is a detox diet as well.

So starting the 1st of  June I will be documenting my progress here along with all my artsy stuff. We shall see how I do. I have already warned my husband and he has promised to take my diet demeanor in stride and do his best not to hold it against me lol.

My beautiful blessing is one month old today!

I can't believe it has already been one month since my little Jasper was born.

For those of you who don't know, this little guy is truly my miracle baby. In the first trimester I thought I had miss carried him 4 times. The doctors told me repeatedly that I was going to loose him and put me on bed rest for 5 weeks.

The entire pregnancy was so hard on both myself and Jasper that at times I wondered if I was going to be able to carry him full term. Multiple times they put me on watch to see if I was going to have to be induced and have him very early. But I am a firm believer in the power of prayer and that there is a big and mighty God that can do amazing things.

I ended up being educed 1 day before his due date and the crazy thing was my water broke as we were getting ready to go to the hospital that morning so it confirmed everything for me. 7 hours after getting to the hospital we were blessed to meet Mr. Jasper James!!

It was then revealed further what a blessing he was. The doctor found that he had 2 knots in his umbilical cord. All of us were in shock he had the cord around him twice and neither time did it get caught around his neck.

Now to look at the face of my beautiful baby boy one month later, I get the awesome reminder of how wonderfully blessed I am!

Some other stuff I use my time up with are:

Couponing: So you will be seeing some great deals on here.

Being a mom: Which comes with some great stories. The kind of funny stuff you just can't make up. Plus the day to day stuff of just dealing with the mess of it all the good and the bad.

Adventuring: Living out here in Idaho there are so many great places to visit, see and do that there is not a lot of time for free time. unless you are forced into it. lol

And there is a lot more but my brain is refusing to continue to work haha!
